JACKSON TWP — The Jackson Community Foundation hosted its free township Easter egg hunt on Saturday. The hunt was held at Sippel Reservoir Park and welcomed participants ages 1 to 12.

The hunt also had multiple vendor tents with activities, snacks and beverages, for parents and children alike.

The Munching Moose, one of the sponsors, allowed children to make cookies and treats. Those uninterested in making their own could also get bags of premade treats and candy as well.

To wash down the candy and treats, The Roaming Bean coffee truck was on site to offer warm coffee and other drinks to parents and children.

Children were greeted and able to sit with the Easter Bunny and a Moose for photos before and after the hunt.

Children were separated into age groups and designated to an area of the field to hunt in. The hunting lasted less than five minutes, as the large turnout of participants scrambled for eggs and other treats littered about in the field. Age group separation was praised by parents and noted as a primary reason why some parents chose the Jackson event over other options for Easter egg hunts.

While most eggs in the field were filled with individual treats, participants that found blue tickets in their eggs received a large Easter basket as a prize.

At the end of the event, guests were able to put their empty eggs in cardboard boxes to be recycled and used again next year.
