Butler man charged in fight outside Center Township business
A Butler man allegedly knocked a man unconscious outside a Center Township business, leading him to be flown to a Pittsburgh hospital on Friday, March 20, according to police.
Joshua Sean Young, 39, was charged Wednesday, March 25, by state police with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault following an incident Friday.
Police said they responded to the Belmont II bar and restaurant for reports of a fight outside. Police arrived and found a man with serious injuries to his face being treated by EMS.
Police said there was a large amount of blood on the ground near the man.
Police reviewed security footage that allegedly showed Young driving a Honda CRV toward the front of the building and almost striking an unrelated man. Police said two men then got into a verbal altercation, and Young got involved.
Police said Young then approached one of the men and punched him in the left side of the face. The punch knocked the man unconscious and he hit his face when he fell, police said.
The man who was allegedly punched was flown to UPMC Presbyterian, police said.
Young’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
