Florence M. Harmon

Florence M. Harmon, 93, of Freeport passed away Thursday at Saxony Health Center, Saxonburg.

She was born April 20, 1919, in Vandergrift to the late Forest C. and Marjorie M. (Hooven) Silvis.

Florence lived most of her life in Tarentum, prior to moving to Freeport in 1975.

Flo was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge, where she was a very active member over the years.

Mrs. Harmon was a nurse's aide and X-ray technician at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights, for more than 15 years, prior to her retirement in 1984.

She enjoyed watching football, spending time with family and all of her “Freeport Pals.”

Flo is survived by her brother, Dallas G. Silvis of Saxonburg; her son-in-law, Larry Harmon of Providence Village, Texas; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold L. Harmon in 1968; her two sons, Michael and Chris Harmon; and her daughter, Donna Lee Harmon.

HARMON — Family and friends of Florence M. Harmon, who passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, may call from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral and committal services at 1 p.m. Monday at the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth St., Freeport, 724-295-3100. Her pastor, the Rev. Jeffery Vanderhoff, and Pam Bonnett, minister of visitation, will co-officiate. A private burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge.
