Scialabba announces end of month resignation
In a brief address Tuesday on the floor of Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Rep. Stephenie Scialabba, R-12th, announced her resignation effective March 31.
Scialabba was first elected in 2022 and is serving her second term, which is due to end in January 2027. She had announced in February that she would not seek third term in office, saying she stepping aside to care for her child.
“As my child prepares to begin school, it is important that I be fully present and available during this foundational period,” she said in February. “While I love this work and care deeply about this district, stepping aside at this time is the right decision for my family.”
The district encompasses Adams, Cranberry and Jackson townships; and Callery, Evans City, Harmony, Mars, Seven Fields, Valencia and Zelienople.
Scialabba, an attorney, was the Republican chairwoman of the House Subcommittee on Government Information Technology and Communication.
She graduated from Bishop McCort High School in 2009, received two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Pittsburgh in 2012 and she graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2016.
