PIAA swimming championships: Knoch’s Adrian Lavorini, Olivia Walewski finish states with 9th-place performances

A number of Butler County swimmers ended the season by competing in consolation heats at the PIAA Class 2A championship meet, held Saturday at Bucknell University's Kinney Natatorium.

The pack was led by Knoch senior Adrian Lavorini, who won his heat to place ninth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.46 seconds.

His teammate, Jacob Ruediger, finished in 14th place in the 500 freestyle at 4:47.02.

In the girls meet, Knoch's Olivia Walewski was ninth in the 100 backstroke (59.32).

Josephine Graper, Ryleigh Kabala, Rachel Karwoski and Walewski teamed up for Knoch to place 12th in the 400 freestyle relay at 3:42.82.

In diving, Freeport's Joy Beck finished 14th in the state and Knoch's Brooke Kobert was 17th.
