Butler to approve even more events for 2026

With weather warming and spring around the corner, Butler City Council is set to approve even more events in the city for the upcoming months.

City council discussed three events taking place between April and August at a forum meeting Thursday evening, March 12. Road closures needed for these events are expected to be approved at a voting meeting later this month.

■ From 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on April 25, Butler YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day will close North Washington Street between West Penn and West Brady streets.

■ From 10:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on May 25, the Memorial Day parade, sponsored by Butler County Veterans Services, is expected to close Main Street between West Pearl and Wayne streets.

■ From 3 to 10 p.m. Aug. 28 and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 29, Sons & Daughters of Italy’s Butler Italian Days will also be making a return It is set to close Main Street between Wayne and Cunningham streets.

All three of the events, and their associated closures, will go to a vote at the next Butler City Council meeting at 7 p.m. March 23.
