Allegheny Health Network has opened its newly renovated, second cardiac catheterization lab at AHN Forbes Hospital in Monroeville.

The renovation expands the hospital’s ability to deliver advanced, lifesaving cardiac care close to home for patients in eastern Allegheny County and surrounding communities, according to a news release.

The new cath lab at Forbes features the Philips Azurion FlexArm, the company’s most advanced X-ray imaging system. It offers enhanced imaging, flexibility and precision.

In addition to upgraded imaging, the lab was designed with a dedicated anesthesia workspace, a feature not typically found in cath labs.
