Robert E.G. King, 82, of Butler passed away Friday in the comfort of his home.

Born Dec. 18, 1933, in Hutchinson, Pa., he was the son of the late Lawrence F. and Viola (Eichler) King.

Bob proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957 and for an additional four years in the Reserves when he completed active duty.

He worked as a flight navigation technician for the FAA.

In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and boating. He was active in the British Car Clubs, and he was also a member of the American Legion Post 945. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth King and his wife, Margherita, of Kittanning and Brian King and his wife, Karen, of Zelienople; his grandchildren, Alycia Lambert, and her husband, Ian, of Dracut, Mass., and Russell and Matthew King; and his longtime companion, Joan Gibbs of Zelienople.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Jean (Detweiler) King.

KING — Family of Robert E.G. King, who died Friday, March 11, 2016, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Andrew Shaffer officiating. Bob will be laid to rest at the Westmoreland County Memorial Park in Greensburg.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to VA Butler Healthcare, 325 New Castle Road, Butler, PA 16001.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
