Eleanor Emrick Ireland
Eleanor Emrick Ireland, 69, of Saint Albans Town, Vt., formerly of Butler, was with her loving husband, Charles, when she passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.
Born on June 4, 1942, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Helen Torbert Emrick.
Eleanor was a 1960 graduate of Fairview Township Karns City High School and Butler Beauty School.
On May 11, 1963, she married her soulmate, Charles E. Ireland.
Eleanor and Chuck lived and raised their family in Butler, where she owned and operated her hair salon on Remil Drive for many years. They moved to Vermont in 2008.
Eleanor was an active member of the St. Peter's Episcopal Church and Butler Jr. Women's Club. She was a warm, caring person with many talents, but her greatest joy was her family.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Charles; one daughter, Kellie (B.C.) Celello of Los Angeles; one son, Gregory Ireland of Vermont; three cherished grandchildren, Kristin (Aaron) Wolf, Sarah Abergel and David Abergel; and one great-granddaughter, Tensley Rylan Wolf, all of California. She also is survived by her sister, Marilyn Hilderbrand of Fenelton; her sister-in-law, Donna Emrick of Butler; several nieces and nephews; and her dearest friend of 60 years, Barrie, her sister of her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harold Emrick Jr. and David (Doc) Emrick; and sister, Helen Seibel.
