Mars football seniors to play in PSFCA East-West All-Star Game
Mars seniors Adam Budzilek, Sean Franklin and Gabe Hein were selected to play in the Pennsylvani State Football Coaches Association East-West Large School All-Star game.
The game is now under the umbrella of the Big 33 Football Classic. The Planets standouts — all were named to the Butler Eagle Sweet 16 offense in the fall — will play May 17 for the West team at Cumberland Valley High School. Kickoff is 5 p.m.
Budzilek was the starting center for an offense that averaged 214.3 rushing yards a game and had 15 tackles and a sack on the defensive line. Franklin, a preferred walk-on at Pitt, has been one of the WPIAL’s best offensive tackles for a few years. And Hein, heading to Sacred Heart next season, had 57 catches, 952 yards and 13 total offensive touchdowns. He also had 46 tackles and four interceptions as a defensive back.
