Jase Renwick’s OT winner sends Butler hockey past North Catholic into PIHL Penguins Cup quarterfinals

Butler hockey has another game.

Jase Renwick netted the golden goal in the Golden Tornado’s 2-1 overtime victory over North Catholic in Tuesday’s PIHL Penguins Cup Class A play-in round victory over North Catholic. The goal came with 48 seconds left in the period at Ice Castle Arena.

Butler advances to the quarterfinals, where it will face Canon-McMillan at Printscape Arena on 7 p.m. March 3.

The Trojans struck first,and quickly, seconds into the game on an Anthony Neely short-handed goal. Anthony Trombatt responded late in the second on a Logan Brown assist to tie it.

Butler’s Harper Slater recorded nine saves on 10 shots. The Tornado peppered North goalie Wyatt Cleveland with 48 shots on goal.
