McCarrier 65th Anniversary
Bill and Irene McCarrier, of Butler, belatedly celebrated 65 years of marriage with a family dinner.
McCarrier married the former Irene Trabert on Dec. 30, 1960, in Grove City.
They have three of children, William McCarrier (Ruth) of Butler, the late Brian McCarrier (Deanna) and John McCarrier (Karen) of Butler.
The McCarriers also have six of grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
McCarrier was a teacher at Moniteau High School and was the founder of Interstate Pipe & Supply Co. He also served eight years as a Butler County Commissioner. He has been active in many community organizations including serving as a trustee of Butler County Community College and of Slippery Rock University. He has been a board member of the Community Development Corporation for 30 years. He has been active in the Masons and Shriners and has served many years as a Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. McCarrier worked at Mellon Bank and Interstate Pipe & Supply Co. She was a member of her church choir and was active in the Butler Christian Women. She was also a volunteer at Butler Memorial Hospital.
The McCarriers are members of Community Alliance Church.
