The Lord welcomed home Evadine Mae Curfman King of Chicora on Saturday.

She was born Nov. 22, 1927, to the late Clarence and Clarissa Nonemaker Curfman in Three Springs, Huntingdon County. She was the third of 11 children.

She was a homemaker and an accomplished poet, who had her work published nationally.

She attended the Chicora Alliance Church.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, John C. King, who she married July 22, 1950; her daughter, Shirley King of Arizona; four sons, Dr. Paul King of Oklahoma, Roy King of South Carolina, Glenn King of Maryland and Terry King of Texas; nine grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Faye (James) Murrman of Butler and Florence Thorp of Texas; and four brothers, Donald Curfman of Emlenton, Ned Curfman of Volant and Marvin Curfman and Galen Curfman, both of Sarver.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Violet, Lavonda and Darlene; and one brother, Howard.

<B>KING</B> — Friends of Evadine Mae Curfman King, who died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with her son, Dr. Paul King, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Richard Jenks.
