Evans City fills vacant council seat

Faye Parenti

EVANS CITY — The borough council seat occupied by the late Linda Bicehouse was filled Wednesday evening.

The council appointed borough native Faye Parenti as its newest councilwoman. She will serve until a permanent candidate is chosen in the next general election one year from November.

Council President Lee Dyer said Parenti has an extensive background in finance and other areas from her employment in the administration office at the Seneca Valley School District.

“She has a lengthy history, all of which blends very nicely with what we need on council,” Dyer said.

He said the borough received several applications.

Parenti will meet with District Judge Wayne Seibel to be sworn in before the next council meeting on May 2.

Parenti said would like to continue the positive direction the council is moving.

“It’s all new territory for me,” she said, “but I’m ready to learn and help.”

Parenti said she was born and raised in Evans City, but left as an adult. She returned five years ago.

“I’m at a time in my life where I’m ready to serve,” she said.

Parenti also knew Bicehouse, who died unexpectedly in March.

“There’s no way I could ever replace Linda,” Parenti said. “She was such a special person and so dedicated to Evans City.”
