Cranberry officials pursuing state funding for Hope Road
Cranberry Township supervisors during a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 5, approved a grant application to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Multimodal Transportation Fund Program to improve a road that’s overdue for repairs.
Officials are pursuing $1 million to support the widening and complete reconstruction of Hope Road.
“There’s a few roads in the township that haven’t had the reconstruction work done. That’s one of them,” township manager Dan Santoro said. “It’s an old and narrow country road. Its base and stormwater prevention measures don’t meet today’s current standards.”
Santoro said the total price tag to reconstruct the road is around $2 million.
