Seneca Valley high school students got to tour UPMC’s Hillman Cancer Center on Jan. 23.

Students spent the day alongside Megan Lizewski, senior high school assistant principal, and Kelly Weston, science department chairwoman, learning about the cutting-edge research happening at UPMC Hillman, a Seneca Valley news release said.

They also learned about the careers of various professionals, including researchers, physicians, therapists, nurse practitioners, medical physicists, directors and community outreach educators.

“Students learned that there is no single path into health care. Each speaker described a different journey highlighting careers many students had never realized existed, let alone existed within one organization like UPMC Hillman Cancer Center,” the news release said.
