WISR Morning Show host and on-air personality Dave Malarkey is hanging up the microphone after spending more than a half century with Butler Radio Network.
Malarkey’s retirement is effective immediately, according to Butler Radio Network. He cited health reasons for his decision to retire.
A Parker native, Malarkey began his career at the station in 1973 after graduating from Penn State University.
He also spent nearly two decades as host of “It’s Your Turn,” the station’s public affairs program.
While most residents knew Malarkey as a radio personality, he was also a local theater player with performances at Butler Little Theatre, Musical Theatre Guild of Butler and others.
