MERTZTOWN, Pa. — An alligator has been returned to its owner after causing quite a stir when it turned up in a nearby homeowner’s pond in eastern Pennsylvania.

Wildlife experts captured the 4-foot gator on Wednesday, one day after Christine Knight of Longswamp Township, Berks County, spotted the critter when she walked out to the pond to feed her koi fish.

After being unable to catch the creature Tuesday, authorities got their gator Wednesday. The name of the gator’s owner was not released.
