Maddy Dehart becomes 1st Union/A-C Valley girls basketball player to score 1,000 points
Union/A-C Valley senior girls basketball player Maddy Dehart reached 1,000 career points with a 22-point effort in Monday's 56-50 loss at Smethport.
She added 14 rebounds and four steals as the Falcon Knights fell to 7-12 overall.
“It was huge because I didn’t realize only a few girls from my school have done it,” Dehart said on the bus ride back.
The bucket came on a put-back, which was fitting for the double-double machine.
Dehart, who attends A-C Valley, is the first player since Union and A-C Valley formed a co-op to reach the milestone and the 20th overall for both schools, according to records provided to the Butler Eagle. The programs combined three years ago.
Raelynn Fletcher chipped in six points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals in the loss.
