Seneca Valley promotes assistant Joe DeCristoforo to softball head coach

The Seneca Valley School Board recently approved the promotion of Joe DeCristoforo to head coach of the varsity and junior varsity softball teams.
He takes over for Marlesse Hames, who coached the Raiders the last four seasons, winning two WPIAL titles and reaching the state championship game in 2022.
DeCristoforo served as one of Hames’ assistant coaches.
Hames, mother of two-time Butler Eagle Female Athlete of the Year and current Clemson pitcher Lexie Hames, was also the all-time girls basketball scoring record holder until senior Natalie Hambly broke the record Thursday. Hames was in attendance for.
