Virginia C. Yankovich
Virginia C. "Ginny" Yankovich, 85, of Jensen Beach, Fla., died peacefully Sept. 29.
Born in Butler Nov. 21, 1921, she was a daughter of Zenaide (Doubet) and William J. Schaffner.
She moved to Jensen Beach, where she lived for the past 56 years and retired as bookkeeper at Bandy Steel after 20 years.
She was a lifetime member of the American Legion, a past volunteer at the Port St. Lucie Medical Center and was known for her participation on the many committees of the Pinelake Village Activities Association, including their flea market.
Survivors include her children, Carol Smith and husband, Carroll Noland, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Marie McClure and husband, Michael, of Laramie, Wyo., and Charles T. Yankovich and wife, Debra, of Miami, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Smith of Seattle, Wash., Alicia McClure of Naples, Fla., and Arniece Gutierrez and Michael Yankovich, both of Miami; a great-grandson, David Gutierrez; sisters Jane Hunter of Melbourne, Fla., Zenaide Still of Bradford, McKean County; a brother, Richard Schaffner and his wife, Joanne of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Carol (Mrs. William D.) Schaffner of Santa Rosa, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.
