WPIAL wrestling tournament: Seneca Valley boys reach 1st round; Mars, Knoch fall in prelims

Seneca Valley boys wrestling fell to host Norwin 54-18 in the first round of the WPIAL Class 3A team playoffs Wednesday.
All three of SV’s victories came by forfeit.
Earlier in the day, the Raiders dispatched Armstrong 34-28 in the preliminary round, with Riley Smith, Zach Hill and Mason Purvis each earning a fall.
Hill now has 98 career victories.
Belle Vernon 38, Mars 29 — In another 3A preliminary-round clash at Canon-McMillan High School, the Planets received pins from Olympic Serrao, Liam Corcoran and Brian Biaku.
Southmoreland 52, Knoch 15 — In the Class 2A preliminaries at Burrell High School, the Knights were no match for the Scotties. No other details were available.
