KITTANNING — State environmental officials said the owner of a housing development must provide safe drinking water or residents might have to relocate.

Residents in the Shadyside Village community in West Franklin Township have been under the water advisory since Nov. 26. State officials said fecal coliform is contaminating the water, possibly from the development's failing septic system.

The state said Wednesday that K.H. Real Estate must provide another permanent water supply. Department of Environmental Protection spokeswoman Helen Humphreys said if the company cannot do that, it might decide to require tenants in the 41-household development to relocate.

Residents now use the water only to flush their toilets. They are getting clean water from portable tanks supplied by the development.

PITTSBURGH — A woman awaiting trial on nearly 600 animal cruelty charges from her former cat sanctuary in now faces more charges, including forgery and performing unlicensed veterinary services.Prosecutors say 46-year-old Linda Bruno illegally vaccinated seven cats for rabies then forged documents to make it appear a veterinarian performed them.Investigators said they found dead and dying cats among others living in deplorable conditions during a March raid at the 29-acre Tiger Ranch compound in Frazer Township. Hundreds of cats seized from the sanctuary required follow-up care at an animal shelter.Bruno's attorney said he hopes to consolidate the new charges for trial with the animal cruelty counts.

PITTSBURGH — A woman already charged in the shooting death of an FBI agent raiding her home is now formally indicted by a grand jury.The Glenshaw home of 40-year-old Christine Korbe and her husband, Robert Ralph Korbe, was raided Nov. 19 because he was wanted on drug charges.Christine Korbe's lawyer acknowledged his client shot Special Agent Samuel Hicks. But he said she did so because she didn't know police were raiding her home and feared for her children.Prosecutors maintain that police loudly announced who they were and that Korbe shot Hicks maliciously.That grand jury indictment came Thursday.
