PITTSBURGH — A driver charged in a Western Pennsylvania crash that severely injured a woman who was on her way to her daughter’s wedding rehearsal dinner last summer has pleaded guilty to two summary violations.

Twenty-year-old Adam Mains of West Elizabeth entered the pleas Wednesday in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court to careless driving and speeding in a work zone. He was fined $139 and must pay court costs.

Police said members of the wedding party were in a car that collided with a pickup truck outside a restaurant in the Pittsburgh suburb of Pleasant Hills.

Brenda Schragl was in a coma for a month. The wedding has been rescheduled for June.

WTAE-TV reports that Mains said he was sorry about the accident but there was “nothing I can do about it.”
