Butler Transit Authority dedicates boardroom to longtime chairman
Just two meetings before his retirement, the Butler Transit Authority’s board of directors dedicated its headquarters’ boardroom to longtime chairman Joe Hasychak.
The announcement came during a directors meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18, when the board voted to rename the boardroom to “The Joseph J. Hasychak Boardroom.” A portrait of Hasychak was hung on the wall in recognition.
After the vote, executive director John Paul and the other members of the board congratulated Hasychak. He was quick to thank the group back for their help over the past 37 years and for the wonderful sendoff.
“I want to thank everyone for the dinner we had and everything that’s been happening, all these proclamations from elected officials ... that was very nice,” he said.
Hasychak was a Butler Township commissioner in the 1980s when he helped found the transit authority alongside former Butler Mayor Ron Forcht. He remained involved and served as chairman until the December meeting.
