Report: Michael Vick to meet with Steelers
PITTSBURGH — In need of a backup for Ben Roethlisberger, the Pittsburgh Steelers are meeting with free-agent quarterback Michael Vick today, according to ESPN.com.
Vick, 35, played for the New York Jets last year and has previously played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons.
Steelers quarterback Bruce Gradkowski dislocated a finger in his left hand in Sunday’s preseason game against the Green Bay Packers and will be unavailable for several weeks. They also have Landry Jones on the roster.
The controversy that follows Vick centers on a prison term he served for his role in a dogfighting business.
