Sara Emma Grossman Deniker

Sara Emma Grossman Deniker, 89, of Pine Township, Grove City, passed away at 12:15 p.m. Sunday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following an extended illness.

Sara was born Oct. 27, 1927, in Clay Township, to Lewis A. and Sarah V. Forsythe Grossman. She married the love of her life, James “Jim” H. Deniker, on Aug. 30, 1947. They lived in the home they built together until his death Dec. 23, 1992.

Emma was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, West Sunbury.

She is survived by her son, John “Jack” Deniker, and his wife, Connie, of Polk, Pa.; her daughter, Peggy Lakin, and her husband, Jim, of Grove City; one sister, Velma Fenrick of Mercer; two brothers, Thomas A. Grossman and his wife, Carolyn, of Sidney, Ohio, and Jerry L. Grossman and his wife, Tish, of Grove City; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sara was preceded in death by one son, Robert “Bob” Deniker, one sister and nine brothers.

DENIKER — Visitation hours for Sara Emma Grossman Deniker, who died Sunday, March 19, 2017, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Willard Morse, visitation pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Crestview Memorial Park.Memorials may be made to any charitable organization that benefits veterans.
