Beyoncé becomes a billionaire, 5th artist to reach milestone

NEW YORK — She’s putting the ‘B’ in billion.

Beyoncé is now a billionaire, making her the fifth musician to reach the nine-digit mark, according to Forbes.

The 44-year-old superstar joined her husband, Jay-Z, along with Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen and Rihanna in the $1 billion club, Forbes reported Monday.

While Jay-Z’s wealth comes from a variety of sources, and Rihanna earned most of her fortune through her beauty brand, Fenty, Beyoncé’s wealth comes almost entirely from her music career, according to Forbes.

She is similar to Swift in that she controls almost all aspects of her career, allowing her to reap significant profits from her two recent, extremely popular tours promoting her past two albums, “Renaissance” and “Cowboy Carter.”

“I felt like I wanted to follow the footsteps of Madonna and be a powerhouse and have my own empire and show other women when you get to this point in your career you don’t have to go sign with someone else and share your money and your success — you do it yourself,” she said in a 2013 promotional interview.

The company Beyoncé formed in 2008, Parkwood Entertainment, produces all of her music, concerts and documentaries. While this increases the superstar’s front-end costs, it also gives her a greater share of the profits from all her work — which remains extremely popular.

Forbes estimated the “Renaissance” tour grossed $600 million, while the “Cowboy Carter” tour pulled in $400 million in ticket sales and at least $50 million from merchandise.

Beyoncé previously said “Renaissance” and “Cowboy Carter” were the first two releases in a planned three-album series exploring different genres, meaning her estimated net worth could climb even higher.

Miami Beach resident Gloria Estefan honored at Grammy celebration of Latin music

MIAMI — Cuban-American singer and Star Island resident Gloria Estefan, one of the most influential figures in Latin music history, was honored Sunday night during “A Grammy Celebration of Latin Music,” a two-hour televised special hosted by the Recording Academy and broadcast on CBS.

The event, aired from Miami, celebrated the impact and legacy of Latin music in the United States, with Estefan being recognized for her 50-year career that helped bring Latin pop into the mainstream. Actress Rita Moreno presented Estefan with the award.

“I’ve always felt that music has no borders,” Estefan said, calling the award “humbling.”

Estefan has won multiple Grammy Awards and is widely credited with opening doors for generations of Latin artists in the U.S. music industry with her early hits with Miami Sound Machine, a band formed by her husband, Emilio Estefan.

The televised special featured performances by Estefan, who sang “Conga,” as well as artists across genres, including Ángela Aguilar, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Billy Idol, Luis Fonsi, Laura Pausini, Prince Royce and Maren Morris, along with tributes to legendary figures in Latin music such as Desi Arnaz, Ritchie Valens, Selena and Celia Cruz.

Hosted by Wilmer Valderrama and Roselyn Sánchez, the program highlighted Latin music’s cultural influence through performances, tributes and interviews with artists and entertainers including Carlos Santana, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Daddy Yankee.

“A Grammy Celebration of Latin Music” aired Sunday, and is available for streaming on Paramount+ following its broadcast.

Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Holly weds Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty

One of Gordon Ramsay’s six children, 25-year-old daughter Holly, tied the knot on Saturday with Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, after nearly three years of dating.

The bride and 30-year-old gold medal winner wed in Bath, England, at The Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. Among those in attendance were the bulk of the Beckham family, as seen in photos published by TMZ and People.

The “MasterChef” star honored his little girl’s special day with a touching tribute on Instagram.

“I’m truly so lucky being able to walk this beautiful bride down the aisle and gaining an incredible son-in-law,” Ramsay wrote. “I love you so much @hollyramsayy and couldn’t be a prouder Dad.”

Ramsay is now also a stepgrandfather through Peaty, who shares 5-year-old George with ex-girlfriend Eirianedd Munro.

Peaty and George are the latest additions to an already extensive Ramsay family, with the chef and his wife, Tana, sharing three sons — Holly’s fraternal twin Jack as well as Oscar, 6, and Jesse, 2 — and three daughters. Holly’s sisters are Megan, 27, and Matilda, 24.

Holly and Peaty, who went Instagram official with snaps from a trip to Rome in June 2023, got engaged on Sept. 10, 2024, announcing the news two days later.

Holly at the time said she was marrying my “best friend,” whom she thanked for “letting the little girl inside of [her] feel loved, seen and happier than ever.” She also pledged “to always be there” for Peaty and George.

“You fill my heart to the brim and give my soul peace,” Peaty shared in his own engagement post. “Your family have always treated me so generously with their time, emotion and trust. … Seeing you show the love you give to the most important person in my life, George, even from day one, there was never a question about you becoming my wife one day.”
