Bertha Mahood, 86, of Worth Township passed away at the Trinity Living Center in Grove City at 1:05 a.m. Friday.

She was born in Jupiter, Fla., on July 24, 1926, to William Benton and Alice Kitchen Benton.

She married Emmett Jones, who preceded her in death in 1963. She later married Raymond Mahood, who preceded her in death in 1972.

She was a Baptist. She worked as a waitress for many years at The Spot Restaurant in Harrisville. She also worked as an “in-home” personal caregiver. She was loved by all.

Survivors include one son, Stephen P. and his wife, Janie Jones, of Tamarac, Fla.; one daughter, Anita A. and her husband, David, Cooper of Slippery Rock; three grandchildren, Lisa M. and her husband, Bobby, Walton, Stephanie Jones and Stephen Jones; three great-grandchildren, John Uber II, James Davidson and Joshua and his wife, Tawnie, McCracken.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two loving husbands.

MAHOOD — Family and friends of Bertha Mahood, who died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, will be received at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday.

A funeral service will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Thomas Meling, pastor of the Zion Baptist Church, Worth Township, presiding.

Interment will follow in Zion Baptist Cemetery, Worth Township.
