Jack H. Lowry
Jack H. Lowry, 85, of Lake Milton, Ohio, died Sunday at his home.
Born March 15, 1926, in Emsworth and raised in Overbrook, he was the son of the late James D. and Rose Harris Lowry.
Mr. Lowry proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart, and he was a member of the American Legion Post 710 of Pittsburgh.
Officer Lowry retired in 1973 from the Pittsburgh Police Department, having served in the canine corps. He was a member of FOP Post 1.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Lou (Kline) Lowry; four children, Susan Ingold (Paul) of Bethel Park, John Lowry (Kathy) of North Sewickley Township, Jan Thorn (Steve) of Hartville, Ohio, and Dan Lowry (Linda) of Ellwood City; and seven grandchildren, P.M. Ingold, Andrew Ingold, Jonathan Lowry, Steven Lowry, Michael Thorn, Nancy Thorn and Jennifer Lowry. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, a sister, and an infant son, Kenneth Lowry.
