Vicky Lynn Touhey
Vicky Lynn Touhey, 56, of Pensacola, formerly of Slippery Rock, passed away Feb. 25 at her companion's home, ending her courageous battle with lung cancer.
The eldest daughter of Cecil and Anna Mae Beachem, she was born Aug. 23, 1955, in Grove City and raised in Slippery Rock.
A 1973 graduate of Slippery Rock High School, Vicky entered U.S. Air Force basic training in 1974. She served in the U.S. Air Force for several years and was stationed in Texas, Guam and Mississippi. During this time, she married and had two children, eventually moving her family to the Fort Walton Beach, Fla., area. In 1989, Vicky met her friend and companion, Clay Stewart.
She was a caring and compassionate person. She loved gardening, fishing with her children and grandchildren, her saltwater aquarium and dogs.
She was predeceased by her parents and grandparents.
Vicky is survived by her friend and companion, Clay Stewart; daughter, Tanya Webb (Jeff); son, Eric Touhey (Stephanie); grandchildren, Cody Jordan, Thomas and Emily Webb and Bailey, Cameron and Mickayla Touhey; brother, Stephen Beachem; sisters, Deb McMurdy and Cheryl Yavorsky (Lance); her devoted stepmother, Alma Beachem; stepbrothers, Jake Dingel and Rob Dingel (Bern); stepsisters, Karen Ford and Kathy Green (Kevin); and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
During her working years, she was a server at Camelot Restaurant in Slippery Rock and the Western Steer and Morrison's Restaurant in Florida. Due to her illness, she ended her working career as the night supervisor of Kmart in Pensacola.
The family would like to thank Clay Stewart for his dedicated care for Vicky during her illness and also Clay's father, retired Lt. Col. Clarence A. Stewart. The family would also like to thank Dr. Tim Tuel and the doctors, nurses and staff at the VA Hospital in Biloxi, Miss., and in Pensacola and the Sacred Heart Oncology Center in Pensacola.
The family also would like to thank Capt. Lloyd Richardson for taking Vicky deep water fishing last June for one of the best afternoons in her fight against cancer and the Dream Foundation for a fantastic trip to the Georgia Aquarium for Vicky and her family.
