CLAY TWP — A 13-year-old boy was injured Monday night while riding a motorcycle at the Switchback Raceway just off Route 8, authorities said.

A Butler Ambulance Service crew took the youth to an unknown hospital. The extent of his injuries were not known.

The youth apparently crashed the motorcycle about 7:30 p.m. He was conscious and breathing following the wreck, according to a 911 report.

The Unionville Volunteer Fire Department was initially called to set up a landing zone for a medical helicopter; however, that request was later canceled, fire officials said, and the boy instead was taken by ambulance for hospital treatment.
