Jackson police swear in new K-9 dog
The Jackson Township Police Department added a new member to the force recently.
Aron, a 19-month old German Shepherd was sworn in by the township Thursday to be the police department's new K-9 unit with his partner, patrolman Vaughan Pulgini.
Pulgini was also partnered with Hutch, the K-9 dog that served on the force for nine years.
Hutch was retired tonight and will live with Pulgini.
Aron was sworn in by the township magistrate last month snd has been on the force since then.
He is the second dog to be in the department's nine-year old K-9 program.
He was also imported from Holland and recruited by police from a kennel in Mercer.
Police chief Terry Seilhamer said Aron recorded "the hardest bite" in his class.
