Luvina Wasson
Luvina Wasson, 96, of Butler passed away Thursday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
She was born April 24, 1921, in Tarentum, to the late Israel Ramaley and the late Etta Mae McConaha Ramaley.
Mrs. Wasson worked for several years at Benson’s in the men’s clothing department. She later worked as an aide for the YWCA at Under Our Wing. Luvina was a member of New Beginning Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts and loved bowling, traveling and her church.
Luvina is survived by her two sons David Boyd Wasson III and his wife, Phyllis, of Fawn Township and Bruce Wasson and his wife, Sandy, of San Diego, Calif.; three grandsons Jon Heller and his wife, Hai-Van, William Heller and his wife, Lisa, and Albert Heller and his wife, Judy; one granddaughter Larraine King and her husband, Bill; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David Boyd Wasson Jr., who died April 24, 1979; her daughter Patty Heller; and three brothers Bud Ramaley, Joseph Ramaley and Leroy Ramaley.
WASSON — Friends of Luvina Wasson, who died Thursday, June 29, 2017, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sundayat the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.
Funeral services immediately follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Matt Perkins officiating.
Private burial will take place at the Mt. Airy Cemetery.
