Hatfield

NATRONA HEIGHTS, Allegheny County — Elaine Hatfield of Gibsonia was named vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, a position she had on an interim basis from June 2008 to February.

Hatfield, a registered nurse for nearly 30 years, previously was director of ambulatory nursing at the medical center.

Before joining AKMC, she was chief clinical officer of a 155-bed free-standing, long-term acute care hospital.

Hatfield earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Duquesne University and her master's degree in public management from Carnegie Mellon University.

She lives in Gibsonia with her husband, John, and son, Ian Hatfield.

HERMITAGE — First National Bank announced it will redeem all of the preferred stock it sold to the U.S. Treasury in January. The preferred stock was issued to the Treasury Department under the Capital Purchase Program.The company, which operates the First National Bank of Pennsylvania, has a number of offices in Butler County.It is paying $100.3 million to the U.S. Treasury to redeem the preferred stock, which includes the original investment of $100 million plus dividends of $0.3 million, according to a company news release.FNB was approved to pay the funds back without any conditions from regulators.Stephen J. Gurgovits, president and chief executive officer, said in the news release, "Based upon our strong capital position, we have a solid foundation to continue to meet the needs of our customers, while sending a strong message to our customers, employees and shareholders that we are a well capitalized, stable and secure financial institution."

PITTSBURGH — Kenneth A. Saban of Valencia is the new director of the Masters of Business Administration-Sustainability program at Duquesne University.The program, which infuses financial, social and environmental responsibility into the classes of more typical MBA degrees, has 35 students.Saban and his wife, Karen, live in Valencia and belong to the Holy Sepulcher Church.

NATRONA HEIGHTS, Allegheny County — Alle-Kiski Medical Center added two doctors to its medical staff.Dr. Raymond Drabicki is an orthopedic surgeon and recently joined the Greater Pittsburgh Orthopaedic Associates with offices in Brackenridge and Pittsburgh.Dr. Jamal M. Aljari, who specializes in internal medicine and sees patients in Feldarelli Square in New Kensington, also joined the staff.
