Josephine Amerata, 78, formerly of Evans City, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, in Glendale, Ariz., after a brief illness.

Born Oct. 6, 1928, in Evans City, she was the daughter of Samuel and Virginia (Capella) Amerata.

She was a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City.

Miss Amerata lived with her sister, Mary McCarty, in Glendale.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Marlon (Mary) McCarty of Glendale, Ariz., and Mrs. W. Alvin (Satina) Rahiser of Evans City; a brother Joseph Capella of Evans City; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. James Olga Groves and Arkavia Capella; and a brother, Cassender (Cozy) Capella.
