Butler stadium authority to create nonprofit foundation
The City of Butler Parks, Recreation, Grounds and Facilities Authority on Monday agreed to begin the process of creating a nonprofit foundation to apply for grants and raise money for improvements to Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park.
Stadium manager Dean Selfridge said the authority would oversee the foundation and recommended that two authority board members serve on the foundation’s board.
The foundation could raise money for capital improvements and apply for grants, he said.
Board member Diane Downs said the authority has not been eligible to apply for grants over the years because it doesn’t have a nonprofit arm.
Selfridge said he will bring the state application to form a foundation to the next authority meeting for consideration.
