Paul L. Kimmel

Paul L. Kimmel, 90, of West Sunbury passed away on Sunday at VA Butler Healthcare.

He was born Nov. 28, 1927, in Pittsburgh, and was a son of the late George L. Kimmel and the late Clara Alberter Kimmel.

Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He was stationed in Guam with the rank of seaman 1st class.

He and his wife developed, owned and operated Peaceful Valley Campground from 1969 to 1989. Paul also worked as a ceramic tile installer for Gray Flooring in Pittsburgh.

He is survived by four sons, David Kimmel of Penn Valley, Calif., Michael Kimmel of Butler, Richard Kimmel and his wife, Allyson, of Springfield, Va., and Daniel Kimmel and his wife, Dawna, of West Sunbury; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Roma Myers of Pittsburgh, and Anna Mae Hayden of Ga.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Kimmel, whom he married on May 29, 1958, and who passed away on Nov. 11, 2013; four brothers; and one sister.

KIMMEL — Per his request, there will be no public visitation for Paul L. Kimmel, who died Sunday, April 15, 2018.Private funeral services were held at the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.Private burial took place at Butler County Memorial Park.Arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
