Joe
Joe we could(and do) go round and round on this topic.
Inheritance: If I inherit money from my parents, didn't they earn it and pay taxes on it? If they kept it invested, didn't they pay capital gains tax on it? Thus, if they decide to give it all to me, it has been earned and taxed once. The government does not deserve another dime of it.
Social Security: My figures were from the Social Security Administration latest annual report, so if I'm to believe between you and them........
Debt: The Bush tax cuts are needed to further take the burden off of small business owners so that they can hire more workers without fear of even more taxes. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that the main reason we are in debt is because of the new health care law(which taxes for ten years but gives benefits for only 6 years). That is a bit over $1,000,000,000,000, and many estimate the actual cost to be double that. Another wild guess as to our debt is because of a $1,000,000,000 stimulus package which hasn't come close to its promised effect.(but Democrats figure if one trillion dollars didn't do it maybe another trillion more would have the desired effect)
Low taxes, balanced budgets, free enterprise, fewer government restrictions, and less spending is the way to a prosperous America.
By the way, if you inherited Ms. Hiltons millions, would you want to give away over half of it to the government? I'd be interested in your "logic" to that question.
PS. Joe, this sounds 180 degrees opposite of your position. Must be right wing propaganda.
