PITTSBURGH — A quick-thinking PennDOT worker may have saved the life of a man who became pinned under his vehicle while trying to change a tire.

Officials say James Lambie, 58, became trapped under his van while trying to detach a spare tire Monday morning on the Parkway West in Pittsburgh.

PennDOT worker Michael Nebinski had been sent to see if the man needed a hand but watched the jack give out as he arrived. Nebinski dashed to his work truck, retrieved a jack of his own and lifted the van off Lambie.

MANHEIM — A central Pennsylvania high school is mourning the loss of four teenagers killed in a two-car accident Sunday.A prayer vigil was scheduled Monday night in Manheim, Lancaster County, in memory of Manheim Central High School freshman DeVaughn Lee, sophomores Nicolas Bryson and Cody Hollinger and junior John Griffith. All were members of the high school football team.The four were killed in an accident Sunday in neighboring Lebanon County. Police said they were heading south on Mount Wilson Road in South Londonderry Township when their car slid sideways and was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
