Cherry 50th Anniversary
Ken and LuAnn Cherry, of Butler, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trans-Atlantic cruise that visited seven countries. They extended their trip with several days in England, Scotland and Iceland.
Ken Cherry married the former LuAnn Kennedy on Nov. 8, 1975, at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Butler.
They are the parents of two sons, Jason A. Cherry (wife, Emily) and Justin N. Cherry (wife, Michaela).
They are the proud grandparents of three granddaughters, Penny, Charlotte and Alexandra.
Ken is a retired elementary school teacher and is a member of the Captain William Trent’s Company and the German Regiment reenacting the French and Indian and Revolutionary wars.
LuAnn is a retired special education teacher and most recently graduated from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland with a master’s degree in genealogy, heraldry and paleography. She is a member of the General Richard Butler Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The couple graduated from Butler High School and Slippery Rock University. They are both retired from Butler Area School District. They enjoy traveling, living history and gatherings with family and friends.
