I went 11-1 last week and now carry a respectable 37-13 mark into this week's interesting slate of games.

On to the picks:

Redbank Valley 30, Union/A-C Valley 21 — In a Thursday night game (and no, neither team will be wearing hideous color rush uniforms), the Falcon Knights travel to Redbank Valley trying to rebound from a loss to St. Marys.

Unfortunately, I see U/ACV suffering another tough setback.

Butler 27, Shaler 12 — I believe in the Golden Tornado.

They suffered a tough blow when they lost quarterback Brandon Fleeger for the season with an injury, but Butler will get another W this week.

Seneca Valley 29, Penn Hills 28 — This is a defacto playoff game. Both teams need this win going forward for their playoff hopes.

Do-it-all Jack Cook is worth that one-point margin of victory.

Montour 21, Knoch 16 — It's hard to figure out these crazy Knights.

One thing we know for sure is Mac Christy can play. He leads Knoch in passing and rushing, and while he will again have a big night, Montour will pull this one out late.

New Castle 32, Mars 22 — Mars is another tough cookie to crack.

The Planets escaped Highlands with a 14-8 win last week and face a New Castle team they nipped in the playoffs last season.

New Castle gets its revenge.

Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 45, Avonworth 6 — The Trojans face a familiar foe this week and they'll get that familiar feeling of victory.

Freeport 22, Burrell 13 — Solid defense. Clutch offense. That has been the Yellowjackets' calling card so far this season.

That equation will work again for Freeport.

Karns City 52, Keystone 6 — Keystone has minus-8 yards rushing as a team this season.

Karns City has two running backs averaging more than 10 yards per carry.

It's not hard to see how those numbers add up.

Clarion 37, Moniteau 18 — The Warriors have been game this season, but Clarion offers one of the biggest challenges for Moniteau this year.

Grove City 40, Slippery Rock 17 — The Eagles' passing attack has been putting up video game numbers this season.

While Slippery Rock has struggled at times this season, the Rockets are a dangerous opponent for Grove City.

It's a rivalry and anything can happen in a rivalry game.

Summit Academy 34, Union-New Castle 31 — Union-New Castle won just one game last season.

This year the Scotties have two wins.

Summit Academy struggled mightily last week, but I have a gut feeling the Knights will bounce back this week.
