ALIQUIPPA — Authorities in Western Pennsylvania say a 2-year-old girl was killed and a 3-year-old injured when a dresser toppled onto them.
Officials in Beaver County say rescue crews in Aliquippa were called to the home shortly before 11:30 a.m. Friday.
Mayor Dwan Walker said emergency responders performed CPR on both girls before rushing them to the hospital.
Coroner Teri Tatalovich-Rossi said Brooklyn Beatty was pronounced dead at Heritage Valley Beaver hospital.
The other girl was taken to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, where her condition wasn't immediately available.
RURAL VALLEY — Authorities say a woman was killed and three other people escaped by jumping out of a second-floor window after fire tore through their Western Pennsylvania home.Emergency dispatchers in Armstrong County said the blaze along Route 1042 in Cowanshannock Township was reported shortly after 3:30 a.m. Friday.Rural Valley fire officials said the home was engulfed in flames by the time they arrived seven minutes later.The name of the woman who died hasn't been released yet.The Red Cross said it has provided food and clothing to four people as well as shelter to three of them.The state fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
