People can celebrate Thanksgiving a bit early with a hike and pitch-in picnic Nov. 22, sponsored by the Butler Chapter of the North Country Trail.

The event will start at noon with a potluck picnic at the shelter house on the prairie side of Jennings Environmental Center, 2951 Prospect Road, Brady Township. An easy family-friendly hike of about three miles will take place after the picnic.
