City man faces attempted homicide charges
WINFIELD TWP — A Butler man is facing attempted homicide charges following a fight Monday night inside a bar on North Pike Road.
State police said Robert L. Fry, 35, got into a verbal altercation with Michael Godlewski, 45, of Cabot at Runt’s Roadhouse Bar, 509 N. Pike Road, about 6:25 p.m.
The argument led to Fry pulling out a large knife and attempting to stab Godlewski, police said.
Godlewski, who suffered a cut on the right side of his nose, was able to disarm Fry and hold him until police arrived at the scene.
Fry was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, prohibited offensive weapons, possessing instruments of crime, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
He was taken to Butler County Prison and is awaiting arraignment.
