There will be a ceremony dedicating a grave marker to Michael Thompson, a Moniteau alumnus who died during a training exercise with the U.S. Marines on Nov. 28, 1978.

The ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. Sunday at West Sunbury Cemetery, 500 – 899 Halston Road, Clay Township. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The organizer of the plan to honor Thompson, one of his high school teachers, Rosemary Simmons, said she is still looking for a photo of Thompson in his Marine uniform.
