Warrant issued for man accused of beating girlfriend

A warrant has been issued for a Lyndora man accused of choking and beating his girlfriend at her Buffalo Township home.

Buffalo Township Police filed charges Thursday against Bradley Borg, 32, including felony aggravated assault and misdemeanors simple assault, unlawful restraint and terroristic threats.

As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, Borg had yet to be arrested, according to police.

According to charging documents, police filed the charges based on a Nov. 11 interview with the girlfriend.

“(The girlfriend) told Mr. Borg that he could not use her car, and he got very angry,” said the investigating officer in the affidavit.

Police said Borg pushed his girlfriend onto a bed, sat on her chest and strangled her. Police said Borg then got off the girlfriend for a moment before returning to the position and strangling her again.

According to police, Borg strangled the woman three times in all with the third and final time causing her to lose consciousness.

Police said when the girlfriend regained consciousness, she was able to fight back and break free slightly.

“Mr. Borg then began striking (the woman) on her head with his fist multiple times while screaming that he wanted her to die and that he would help her die,” police said.

Police said the woman managed to get to her feet, but then Borg threw her into a set of closet doors, and then he threw her into a bedroom door.

“(The woman) was able to stay calm and convince Mr. Borg to go home with the promise she would see him later,” police said.

Following his arrest, Borg will be arraigned by a district judge, and a preliminary hearing will be scheduled.
