The state Department of Transportation announced a short-term lane restriction at multiple intersections along Route 228 in Middlesex and Adams townships on Wednesday.

A lane restriction with flaggers will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Route 228. This will be a moving operation traveling east between the intersections of Mars Valencia Road and Davis Road.

Intermittent paving will be completed at intersections of the township roads and Route 228 at Helenz Way, Three Degree Road and Weatherburn Drive, according to PennDOT.

Motorists may experience delays and should use caution through the area.

The safety improvement project includes through lanes, turn lanes, side road improvements, the addition of service roads for access control, drainage and guide rail upgrades, signal replacement, signage and pavement markings, sidewalks, ADA ramps and a roundabout.
