Pediatricians offer tips to help youth adjust to time change
Clinicians across Allegheny Health Network’s Pediatric Institute are offering practical advice to help children adjust to the time change and shorter stretches of daylight that come along with the end of daylight saving time on Sunday, Nov. 2.
Although teens tend to fare better with the autumn time change, it can be a more difficult transition for young children, according to a news release from AHN.
Dr. Joseph Aracri, chairman of AHN Pediatric Institute, offered several tips to help youths adjust. Tips for parents and caregivers include:
– Expect initial schedule disruptions and be patient
– Prioritize consistent bedtime routines
– Ensure adequate hydration
– Encourage daily exercise and engaging indoor play.
