Olive Naomi (Ifft) Cratty
Olive Naomi (Ifft) Cratty, 106, formerly of Franklin Township, passed away Tuesday morning in Transitions at Autumn Grove Care Center, Harrisville.
She was born May 16, 1906, on the family farm in Franklin Township, and was the daughter of the late Dan and Eda Martsolf Ifft.
Mrs. Cratty was a member of First Baptist Church in Butler.
She was known as “Grandma Cookie,” and will be remembered for quilting, baking pies and her famous dropped cookies that were always available in the wooden cookie jar. She worked on her family farm until the age of 96, where she helped ride the potato grader and sold strawberries, eggs, and potatoes.
She is survived by two sons, Lee Cratty of Butler and Clair (Margaret) Cratty of Butler; her six grandchildren, Herb (Bonnie) Cratty of Ellwood City, Donald (Natascha) Cratty of Butler, Jamie Cratty of Butler, Jodi (Chuck) Boory of Prospect, Judy (Andy) Stoops of West Sunbury and Janet (Bob) Murphy of Butler; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd W. Cratty, who passed away April 28, 1979, two brothers and one sister.
CRATTY — Visitation for Olive Cratty, who passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.The funeral service will be at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ben Oesterling of Mt. Zion Baptist Church officiating.Interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Mt.
